Decorative gypsum brick "old castle"
- Thermal insulation properties: provides additional thermal insulation due to the porous structure of gypsum.
- Soundproofing: absorbs noise, improving the acoustic properties of the room.
- Porosity of the material: due to its high porosity, gypsum has the ability to regulate humidity in the room, absorbing excess moisture and releasing it in dry air.
- UV resistance: does not fade in the light, retains color and texture throughout its entire service life.
- Environmentally friendly: made from natural materials, modeling plaster and water, does not contain toxic components and is safe for health.
- Surface: matt surface, ready for painting or applying protective varnish.
- Heat resistance: the material is resistant to temperatures up to +50°C, which allows it to be used near radiators and other heat sources.
- Resistance to mechanical damage: the brick surface is resistant to minor scratches and chips when used carefully.
- Ease of processing: easy to cut and adjust to the required size with conventional tools: a hacksaw or a jigsaw.
- Moisture absorption: without coating absorbs moisture up to 10% of its weight. Protective coating is recommended in areas with high humidity.
- Compatibility with adhesives: compatible with most gypsum, cement and acrylic based construction adhesives.
1. Surface preparation:
• Clean the surface from dust, dirt and grease.
• Make sure the surface is level, dry and firm.
• For porous or weak substrates, use a deep penetrating primer.
2. Necessary tools and materials:
• Tools: level, spatula, notched trowel, hacksaw or jigsaw.
• Materials: tile adhesive, gypsum mixture or special mounting adhesive.
• Additionally: sponge, grout (if necessary).
3. Markup:
• Using a level and tape measure, mark the surface for even installation.
• If necessary, draw vertical and horizontal lines for control.
4. Preparing the brick:
• Before laying, check the dimensions and, if necessary, trim the bricks using a hacksaw or jigsaw.
• It is recommended to lay out the elements 'dry' to determine the optimal arrangement.
5. Applying glue:
• Apply a thin layer of adhesive to the wall surface using a notched trowel.
• If necessary, apply glue to the back of the brick as well.
6. Installation of bricks:
• Press the brick against the wall, rocking it slightly to distribute the adhesive evenly.
• Leave even seams between elements (if required by design). Use spacers to control seam thickness.
• Start laying from the bottom corner and move upwards.
7. Seam treatment (if provided):
• After the glue has dried (about 24 hours), grout the seams with a special mixture.
• Remove excess material with a damp sponge.
8. Finishing:
• If desired, the brick can be painted with acrylic or water-based paint.
• To protect against moisture or dirt, it is recommended to cover the surface with acrylic varnish.
9. Operating tips:
• Do not expose the material to intense moisture without a protective coating.
• Clean the surface regularly with a soft damp cloth.
